Micro console not required, Samsung adds PlayStation Now to its Smart TVs

Never mind the PlayStation TV dongle, Samsung's new Smart TV range to be unveiled at CES Las Vegas soon, will feature PlayStation Now bolted into the Tizen-powered interface. As Smart TVs have another shot at taking off, expect plenty of models to feature extra content and applications to get buyers hooked, especially as the 4K market is still a long way off, for most.

Sony's steaming games service will only need a DualShock controller and a hefty wallet to get you playing PlayStation games from the classic 20 year-old model to the latest PS4 titles, all via the power of the cloud (and a decent network connection). Interesting to see Samsung ditch Google's Android TV idea for its own OS.
Of course, if you're quite happy with your perfect plasma or recent LED TV, why bother and just pick up a PlayStation TV or one of the many Android gadgets to get some cheap gaming going.
