Amazon firing back at Apple with a next-gen Fire TV

No one knows how many Fire TV units Amazon has sold, but the company still seems keen on the concept as it has an update in the works. That's been revealed thanks to the detective work of a cunning US blogger, read about that here.

The specs for a potential Amazon Fire 4K model include: Bluetooth 4.1, microSD for hugely expandable storage, possible 4K support, all of which would put it above Apple's upcoming rival.

However, any gaming unit is nothing without some new games, and Apple failed pretty poorly on that front with a few Activision titles and Manticore, a shooter in the Galaxy on Fire universe. Amazon seems more than happy to spend money on content, so what chance it has a few big name games to launch?
